About

wpmarena is a free typing test built to be fast, quiet and honest about your numbers.

What it is

You pick a time or a number of words and type. The test shows your speed in words per minute, your accuracy, your raw speed and how steady you were. There is nothing to install, and you do not need an account. A free account is there if you want to save your results and join the leaderboard.

How the numbers work

WPM is the number of correct characters divided by five and by the minutes you typed. Accuracy is the share of key presses that were correct. Consistency compares how even your speed was from second to second. Read more on the average typing speed page.

Challenges, bots and rooms

You can send a friend a typing test challenge link, race a bot, or join a live typing race in the multiplayer rooms. Results stay in your browser unless you share a link or race in a room.

Accounts and the leaderboard

Create a free account and your standard tests are saved to your profile. Your best result for each test length and language is ranked on the leaderboard.
