Privacy policy
Last updated October 2026. This is a short summary of what the site does with your information.
What stays on your device
Your settings (theme, font, sound) and your best scores are stored in your browser using local storage. We do not receive them. You can delete them at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.
Your lesson progress
The typing lessons remember which lessons you have finished in your browser, in local storage. It stays on your device.
What you type
The text you type in the test is processed in your browser to count speed and accuracy. It is not sent to us.
Analytics and advertising
If the site uses analytics, it is Google Analytics and, possibly, Microsoft Clarity. They count visits and show which pages help. Where the law asks for a choice (Europe, the UK and Switzerland), Google Analytics sets no cookie until you press Accept; before that it only receives anonymous pings without cookies or a stored identifier, such as which page was opened and roughly where from. Elsewhere it uses cookies from the first page, and you can switch it off at any time. Microsoft Clarity, if it is used, only runs when cookies are allowed. A browser that sends the Global Privacy Control signal is not counted at all. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie choices" in the footer. If the site shows ads, this section will list each ad provider by name before they are in use.
Fonts and backgrounds
Fonts you upload and background pictures you upload are stored in your browser and are never sent to us. If you pick a Google font, your browser loads it from Google Fonts at that moment, and Google receives your IP address and browser details. If you paste a picture address as a background, your browser loads it from that website. Both happen only when you choose them.
Multiplayer rooms
When you join a room on the multiplayer page, our server receives a random id made in your browser, the nickname you typed (or a Guest name), and your progress and final speed during the race. Other players in the room see your nickname, progress and result. Room data is deleted a short time after the race, but the results of public races (nicknames, speeds and accuracy) are kept on a numbered results page at /multiplayer/ and the race number, and are removed after a while. Nicknames and speeds also appear in the short list of recent winners. Your IP address is used only to limit how many requests one address can send. Do not use your real name as a nickname.
Accounts
An account is optional. If you create one, we store your username, a scrambled (hashed) version of your password, the email address if you add one, the date you joined, and your saved test results (speed, accuracy, test type, language and time) and race counts. Your username, best results and recent tests are public on your profile and the leaderboard. Your email is never shown to anyone and is used only to reset your password. We use one cookie, named wa, to keep you logged in; it is needed for the account to work. Your IP address is kept only in a scrambled form to limit sign-up and login attempts. You can download all of your data or delete your account and results at any time on the account page. Racing in a room while logged in uses your username as your nickname.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the EU you have the right to ask what data we hold, to correct it or to delete it. Write to hello@wpmarena.com.
Changes
We will update this page when the site changes and show the date at the top.
